Application: | Filtration |
sinter metal mesh filter is a process that improves the characteristics of woven wire mesh by bonding the contact points of all the wires together to form a mesh whose wires are securely fused in place. This is achieved through a combination of heat and pressure, and the result is a single layer sintered wire mesh.
The filter has been widely used in transfomer oil, turbine oil, hydraulic oil, aviation kerosene, petrolum, chemical, power plant, coal carbon, mining, pharmaceutical, food and engineering industries.
A more common application of the sintering process involves laminating multiple layers of woven wire mesh together to form a sintered mesh part that compared to a single layer of wire mesh has increased mechanical strength, greater preservation of filter rating under pressure, is easier to clean, and has better structural integrity. A multiple layer sintered wire mesh part can maintain the filtration rating of its finest mesh layer, while also maintaining the mechanical strength of its coarser support layers.
Our sintered wire mesh products are manufactured in sheets in standard sizes of 2'x4', or 4'x4'. These sintered wire mesh laminates can be custom made to meet a thickness requirement, a filtration rating, and/or a certain number of layers. If you have your own custom design, we can sinter just about any combination of wire mesh layers together to form a sintered mesh part. These can be shipped as flat sheets, or we can punch a variety of custom sized discs or donuts, or cut different sized square and rectangular sheets. These sintered wire mesh laminates can also be rolled into tubes to form tubular sintered filters. We specialize in taking your part from initial design to the finished product, from sourcing the wire mesh to sintering the multiple layers to forming and fabricating into the final assembly.

Besides any custom designs, there are several main standard types of sintered wire mesh laminates:
5-Layer Sintered Wire Mesh
This is the most common type of sintered wire mesh laminate. It is made with one filter layer sintered to several standard protective and support layers.
Sintered Wire Mesh with Perforated Metal
This type of sintered mesh laminate consists of several layers of wire mesh sintered to a perforated plate.
Sintered Square Woven Mesh
This type of sintered mesh laminate consists of several layers of square woven wire mesh sintered together.
Sintered Dutch Woven Mesh
This type of sintered mesh laminate consists of 2 to 3 layers of dutch woven wire mesh sintered together.
